About Bobby Burrell
Bobby Burrell-Crew Chief #15
Bobby has a long history in NASCAR spanning back to 1995 when he started with the Wood Brothers fresh off getting his engineering degree from Syracuse University. Since then Bobby could be found working at a multitude of teams including DEI, Yates, Ganassi, Robby Gordon, Haas CNC, Kevin Harvick Inc., Mayfield Motorsports, and Key Motorsports. His duties have been everything from tire changing, team engineer, car chief, and his current role, crew chief.
In 2001, Bobby was pinned against the pit wall by Ward Burton’s car in a pit road accident. After the accident he had to regain his strength, balance, and hand-eye coordination. This accident resulted in a NASCAR rule change requiring all pit crew members to wear helmets. Although many still remember him for that incident, Bobby would like to be remembered for his successes. Bobby won the 1999 NASCAR Nationwide Series Championship with Dale Earnhardt Jr. as the driver and is also a two-time winner of the NASCAR Pit Crew Competition.
